University of Ljubljana In-House Training Course | Ljubljana 13-14.01.25

Between 13–14 January 2025, European Academy had the pleasure of conducting an on-site, hands-on training programme on “Management and Coordination of EC Funded Projects: The PM² Methodology” at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.

The session marked the first of two dedicated PM² workshops delivered to the University in 2025, demonstrating a growing institutional focus on project governance excellence and alignment with European Commission-endorsed project management standards.

A Structured Journey Through PM²

This tailored training offered a comprehensive journey through the PM² methodology with a focus on practical application and customisation within academic environments. Key components included:

  • Overview of EU funding structures and the PM² project landscape

  • Step-by-step guidance on initiating, planning, executing, and closing EC-funded projects

  • Techniques for risk management, stakeholder engagement, and communication planning

  • Tools and templates for efficient coordination, using the official PM² artefacts

  • Emphasis on governance roles, quality assurance, and post-project review strategies

With interactive Q&A sessions and in-depth analysis of real-life case scenarios, participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical frameworks they could immediately implement within their units.

This session helped set the foundation for further capacity building, laying the groundwork for continued professional development across the university’s project ecosystem.
