European Academy at Crowdhelix: Building New Partnerships for Europe’s Democratic, Green and Skills-Driven Future

On 28-29 May 2026, European Academy joined the Crowdhelix Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society Matchmaking Event at SOAS University of London, bringing forward fresh ideas, proven expertise and a strong commitment to shaping the next generation of European collaboration.

The event gathered organisations, researchers, innovators and education leaders from across Europe and beyond, all working towards one common goal: building impactful Horizon Europe partnerships that respond to the major societal challenges of our time.

For us, the event was more than a networking opportunity. It was a platform to connect with like-minded organisations, exchange forward-looking ideas and open new pathways for cooperation in education, democracy, sustainability, digital transformation and skills development.

During the event, European Academy presented two new project ideas aligned with key Horizon Europe Cluster 2 calls:

Citizenship Education as Part of Lifelong Learning

HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-DEMOCRACY-09

This project idea explores how citizenship education can become a lifelong journey, empowering people of all ages to participate actively in democratic life. The concept focuses on strengthening civic competences, democratic resilience, inclusion, participation and a shared sense of European responsibility beyond the classroom.

Fostering Competences for the Green Transition

HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-07

This project idea responds to one of Europe’s most urgent priorities: equipping people with the skills, mindsets and practical competences needed for the green transition. It aims to support learners, educators, institutions and communities in becoming active contributors to a more sustainable, climate-conscious and future-ready Europe.

Showcasing European Academy’s Project Portfolio

The event also offered the opportunity to present European Academy’s expanding portfolio of European projects, demonstrating our experience in education innovation, sustainability, project management, researcher development and digital transformation.

GreenTech Horizons
GreenTech Horizons supports the twin green and digital transition by developing the green, digital and business skills needed for the future workforce. Through curriculum innovation, e-learning, MOOCs and open educational resources, the project helps learners and institutions respond to the challenges of sustainable growth, employability and digital transformation.

ESG4PMChange
ESG4PMChange brings sustainability to the heart of project management. The project develops ESG-focused competences, learning resources, Living Labs and micro-credentials to prepare students, professionals and organisations to integrate Environmental, Social and Governance principles into real project environments.

SPM² – Sustainable Project Management through PM²
SPM² advances a practical and structured approach to sustainable project management. The project develops a dedicated guide, digital resource hub, curriculum, professional profile and micro-credential framework to help professionals and institutions apply sustainability principles through the PM² methodology.

SMART Researchers
SMART Researchers supports early-stage researchers by strengthening career development, skills recognition and micro-credentialing. The project contributes to more sustainable research talent ecosystems, helping researchers build transferable competences and navigate diverse career pathways across Europe.

AI-TransformED
AI-TransformED focuses on the responsible, ethical and inclusive integration of generative AI in education. The project supports educators and institutions with practical tools, microcredentials, AI readiness resources, sandbox protocols, validated use cases, a Learning HUB and policy recommendations for meaningful AI adoption.

Looking Ahead

European Academy continues to build partnerships that transform ideas into action. Through Horizon Europe, Erasmus+ and other European programmes, we are committed to working with organisations that share our vision for a more skilled, sustainable, democratic and inclusive Europe.
