IHE Delft In-House Training Course | Online 18.11.24

18 November 2024 marked the start of a three-part training series delivered by European Academy to the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, with the first session focusing on “How to Write Successful Erasmus+ Proposals.”

Delivered online, this full-day workshop brought together IHE Delft’s academic and project support staff to strengthen their ability to design competitive, well-structured proposals aligned with the requirements of the Erasmus+ programme.

This Erasmus+ session is the first in a coordinated series that aims to build IHE Delft’s institutional capacity across multiple EU funding streams. The full series includes:

  • How to Write Successful Erasmus+ Proposals – 18 November 2024

  • Writing the Excellence Section in Horizon Europe Proposals – 17 December 2024

  • Writing the Implementation Section in Horizon Europe Proposals – 13 January 2025

From Needs Analysis to Impact: A Step-by-Step Proposal Journey

Throughout the day, participants worked through the Erasmus+ proposal structure, learning how to address each section with clarity, strategy, and measurable goals. The agenda included:

  • How to justify project relevance and set well-defined objectives

  • Conducting a solid Needs Analysis using SWOT and PEST methods

  • Designing a clear and feasible methodology with a realistic work plan

  • Managing risks, defining roles in partnerships, and ensuring complementarity

  • Planning for impact, dissemination, and long-term sustainability

  • Developing indicators to measure results and ensure lasting project value

Interactive workshops allowed participants to apply each topic in real time—drafting work packages, partnership roles, and impact frameworks with expert guidance.

A Strong Start to Strengthening Proposal Capacity

By investing in this structured training series, IHE Delft is reinforcing its role as a competitive partner in European education and research collaborations. The Erasmus+ workshop laid a solid foundation for the following Horizon Europe-focused sessions, ensuring that staff are equipped with the tools, terminology, and confidence to deliver high-quality proposals aligned with EU expectations.
