For the second time since 2023, the Central Denmark EU Office welcomed European Academy to deliver a three-day, tailor-made training course on the PM² Project Management Methodology—this time bringing together participants from a wide range of sectors, including education, healthcare, culture, and green transition.
Held in Brussels from 21–23 May 2025, this second edition built on the success of the inaugural session and confirmed the ongoing commitment of Danish public sector organisations to align with European Commission-endorsed project management standards and strengthen their readiness for EU-funded programmes.
From Project Methodology to Proposal Excellence
The programme offered a comprehensive exploration of the PM² methodology—from foundational principles to project lifecycle management, governance, stakeholder engagement, and risk handling. Over the first two days, participants worked through:
The structure and documentation of Open PM²
Hands-on use of PM² artefacts (Project Charter, Business Case, Work Plan, etc.)
Effective project planning, monitoring, reporting, and closure
Use of tools like stakeholder matrices, the RASCI model, and checklists
Best practices in communication, quality assurance, and cost control
Day 3 took a strategic turn, focusing on Erasmus+ proposal development and budgeting. The sessions were designed to help participants write strong, fundable applications, avoid common mistakes, and build realistic, competitive budgets—whether using action-based funding or lump sums.
A Cross-Sector Delegation from Central Denmark
Participants represented a rich mix of Danish institutions and municipalities, reflecting the diverse ambitions of the region across the following sectors:
Culture & Education: Including schools, libraries, arts academies, and higher education providers
Healthcare: With representatives from Aarhus University Hospital and the Central Denmark Region
Green Transition: Involving municipal climate teams and sustainability-driven projects
Public Administration & Research: Through the Central Denmark EU Office’s own thematic units
This interdisciplinary approach enabled fruitful discussions and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, further enhancing the training’s value.

Throughout the course, participants received access to exclusive templates, resources, and planning tools, enabling them to apply the PM² methodology immediately in the context of their ongoing and future EU projects. The combination of methodology and funding strategy made this edition of the training both operational and strategic.
