European Academy was honoured to deliver between the 3rd and 4th of February 2025 another on-site training course titled “Management and Coordination of EC Funded Projects: The PM² Methodology” at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.
About the Training
Led by our team of European funding and project management experts, the course provided participants with a deep dive into the PM² methodology, the official project management approach developed by the European Commission for EU-funded projects.
The sessions combined theory, templates, tools, and real-world application strategies to help participants enhance their project planning, governance, and execution skills across all project phases—from initiation to closure.
Training Highlights
Over the two days, the course covered critical topics including:
Understanding EU-funded project structures and stakeholder engagement
The PM² lifecycle and how it aligns with EU project lifecycles
Use of PM² artefacts such as the Project Charter, Business Case, and Project Handbook
Planning techniques such as Work Breakdown Structures and effort estimates
Applying the PM² Governance Model and the RASCI role assignment framework
Monitoring and controlling project timelines, costs, quality, and risks
Closing procedures including project-end reviews and lessons learned
Access to exclusive templates, checklists, and best practices for immediate implementation
The interactive format allowed for exchange of experiences and challenges specific to the academic context, ensuring participants walked away with practical, actionable knowledge tailored to Horizon Europe and other EC-funded programmes.
