On 8–9 May 2025, European Academy delivered a focused, online in-house training course to the team at European Schoolnet, equipping participants with essential knowledge and tools to effectively manage and coordinate EU-funded projects using the PM² Project Management Methodology.
The training was delivered live via Zoom and tailored to the real-world needs of European Schoolnet professionals working across EU collaborative programmes, such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and Digital Europe.
Mastering the EC’s Own Project Methodology
Developed by the European Commission, PM² provides a structured yet flexible project management approach aligned with the expectations of EU funding bodies. Over two intensive days, the training offered a comprehensive overview of the methodology, including:
Understanding the PM² lifecycle and how it aligns with EU-funded project structures
Creating and managing key artefacts: Project Charter, Work Plan, and Business Case
Defining stakeholder roles and responsibilities using the RASCI model
Managing communication, risks, quality assurance, and change within the project cycle
Ensuring proper closure, reporting, and post-project review
Through practical examples, interactive discussions, and expert-led guidance, participants strengthened their ability to apply PM² principles in both day-to-day project operations and strategic planning.
Certification Pathway: From Knowledge to Qualification
Following the successful completion of the course, all participants received vouchers to pursue the PM² Basic Certification Exam, offering a valuable opportunity to validate their project management skills with a recognised credential.
This initiative reflects European Schoolnet’s proactive investment in internal capacity building—ensuring its staff are fully equipped to lead and support complex, multi-partner EU initiatives with confidence and compliance.
