European Academy was honored to take part in the ESG4PMChange Transnational Project Meeting, held from May 19 to 20, 2025, at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism in Split, Croatia. This pivotal gathering brought together 14 partners from across six European countries — including universities, professional organizations, and industry experts — to advance the integration of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into the core of project management education and practice.
About ESG4PMChange
In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, project managers must lead with responsibility, sustainability, and ethical foresight. ESG4PMChange — “The ESG Imperative for the Project Management World: Alliance for Developing and Empowering Changemakers” — is a forward-looking initiative co-funded by the European Union. Over 36 months, it seeks to equip professionals with the competencies needed to lead projects that not only deliver value but also contribute positively to the environment and society.
Key Highlights from the Split Meeting
Hosted by the University of Split and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ivana Bilic, the two-day meeting served as a milestone in the project’s development. Activities included:

Hands-On Exploitation Workshop: A highly interactive session focused on stakeholder mapping, value creation, and action planning to scale the impact of the project’s knowledge base.
Strategic Planning for WP3: Detailed micro-planning for the Course Learning Environment (COLE), integrating key ESG insights and technological innovation.
Exploration of Micro-Credentialing Tools: Demonstrations of Syntea’s digital badge system and VR-based training simulations, paving the way for cutting-edge credentialing and learner engagement.
Scientific Publication Roadmap: Collaborative brainstorming on joint research and publications, harnessing data and insights from the project’s earlier phases.
The event also included a visit to the planetarium and maritime simulators at the Faculty of Maritime Studies and concluded with a vibrant social dinner in the heart of Split, fostering further collaboration among partners.
